DESK 01-A
The slabsBuilding

A slab is one card in one grade from one grading company: a 2016 Charizard EX in PSA 9 is not the same thing as the same card in PSA 10, and the desk never treats them as one.

Each line below is a pair the desk has seen on the board. It carries the fair value, which of the three numbers made it, and how many sales of that exact pair the desk has recorded in the last 30 days. Fewer than three and the desk will not touch it, however cheap it looks.

The journal fills itself: a listing that disappears without being cancelled is recorded as a sale at its asking price.

That is why this index starts empty and grows: on its first day the desk knows the board, after a month it knows the market. Nothing here is seeded, imported or guessed.
